This new coffee shop at the Prestwich Memorial on the corner of Buitengracht Street and Somerset Road exudes a unique blend of simplicity, elegance and character.
With a magnificent view of Table Mountain, and set right in the heart of the city, TRUTH is the perfect third place as owner David Donde describes it; a place that you feel drawn to when you have a break from your routine at work or home and take some time out; a place where you can sit back, relax and enjoy a cup of the finest freshly roasted coffee.
TRUTH is open from 07:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday, and 08:00 to 12:00 on Saturdays. Look out for the light food menu which will be introduced in February 2010. There is also uncapped free wi-fi and plenty of natural light if you want to catch up on your emails.
Donde’s dedication to creating the perfect cup of coffee and experience to go along with it is evident in every facet of TRUTH, from the variety of handcrafted blends of coffee on offer to the top quality service from the staff and the simple, stylish décor.
Donde sources the majority of the beans from Africa, with his favourites coming from Ethiopia, Guatemala and Rwanda. To ensure that the coffee is always fresh and full of flavour, the beans are roasted in a modernised vintage coffee roaster each day.
